Modern Slavery Statement for Removal Van Belsize Park
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the actions taken by Removal Van Belsize Park to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. As a provider of removal and relocation services, we recognise our responsibility to uphold and promote respect for human rights in all aspects of our business.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Removal Van Belsize Park maintains a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, including forced labour, servitude, debt bondage, human trafficking and child labour. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective controls and due diligence systems to ensure modern slavery does not take place within our own operations or those of our suppliers.
All employees, contractors and suppliers are expected to share this commitment. Any breach of this policy by staff may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract. For suppliers and other third parties, non-compliance may lead to suspension or termination of business relationships.
Our Operations and Supply Chain
Our core activities include domestic and commercial removals, packing, storage coordination and related logistics within the United Kingdom. Our supply chain primarily consists of providers of vehicles, fuel, packing materials, equipment, storage facilities and outsourced services such as maintenance and cleaning.
While we consider our sector to be at relatively low risk, we recognise that modern slavery can occur in any industry. We therefore take proactive steps to identify potential risks in areas such as agency labour, logistics, warehousing, cleaning and manufacture of packing materials.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers and business partners to operate ethically and to comply with all applicable labour and human rights laws. As part of our supplier onboarding and ongoing management, we seek assurances that suppliers:
Demonstrate compliance with labour, health and safety and human rights legislation. Prohibit forced or compulsory labour, child labour and human trafficking. Provide fair working conditions, including fair pay and reasonable working hours. Maintain appropriate records and transparency regarding labour practices.
We review key suppliers on a risk basis and may undertake audits or request evidence of compliance, including policies, training records and relevant certifications. Where concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier to develop corrective actions with clear timeframes. Persistent or serious non-compliance may result in the ending of the commercial relationship.
Training and Awareness
We provide guidance and information to relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment and supplier management, to help them understand the indicators of modern slavery and the steps to take if they have concerns. Staff are encouraged to remain vigilant and to challenge any practices that appear inconsistent with our values or this Statement.
Reporting Concerns and Protection
We are committed to providing safe and accessible channels for raising concerns about modern slavery or unethical conduct. Employees, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders are encouraged to report any suspicions or actual instances of modern slavery in our operations or supply chain, either through their line manager or other senior management.
All reports will be treated seriously and, where appropriate, investigated promptly and sensitively. We will not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith, even if it is not substantiated upon investigation. We will take appropriate action where issues are identified, which may include notifying relevant authorities.
Ongoing Review and Continuous Improvement
Removal Van Belsize Park is committed to continuously improving its approach to preventing modern slavery. We will review this Modern Slavery Statement at least annually to assess the effectiveness of our measures and to identify opportunities for improvement. This review will take into account changes in our operations, supply chain, legal requirements and best practice guidance.
Following each review, we may update our policies, training, supplier requirements and audit processes to strengthen our ability to identify, prevent and address modern slavery risks. This Statement reflects our current position and our ongoing commitment to responsible and ethical business conduct.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the management of Removal Van Belsize Park and is intended to apply to the current financial year. It will be made available to employees, suppliers and stakeholders and may be updated following each annual review.
